How do you book with Mabaruli African Safaris?

Do you need Travel Insurance?

Yes, it is strictly advisable that whilst travelling with Mabaruli African Safaris, clients need to have Comprehensive Travel Insurance covering cancellation, medical expenses, and emergency travel with repatriation assistance and personal accident.

What is the best time to visit Namibia?

Namibia’s busiest season is from June to September, during this time, it is essential to book prior advance on a safari as space fills extremely fast during this period and establishments are usually booked out a tear in advance. The weather is great to travel, but it can be very cold in the evenings. Otherwise Namibia is a great country to travel ALL YEAR AROUND.

Is Namibia a suitable destination for the family?

Namibia is a great family destination to visit, which is safe, adventurous and will be a memorable experience for children. Please see our Family Holidays page for more information on Family Holidays with Mabaruli. Our minimum age is 5 years of age.

If we are a group of friends or family who would like to travel together, how can Mabaruli help?

With our custom build safari vehicles, we can accommodate up to maximum 16 people in a vehicle, a great way to travel all together in one vehicle (no need to hire lots of vehicles). Let us know your group size and what you are interested, and we can put an exciting and unforgettable tour together for your group of friends or family. You are welcome to choose one of our existing tour itineraries or we can help tailor made to your number of days and request and dates.

What is the best way to bring your money on tour?

South African Rand can be used in conjunction with the Namibian Dollar and is accepted widely in Namibia. Best is to bring majority in cash (Either British Pounds or Us Dollars) as well as your credit card as most towns have ATM machines. It is advisable to keep your money safe with a money belt and to use the safes in your accommodation rooms or in the vehicles safe.

Wil you be able to charge your digital camera’s batteries while on tour.

In Namibia we use the round 3-point plugs of 220-240 Volts. You must make sure you have the right adaptor. On most of our vehicles we have Invertors for charging camera batteries while the vehicle is on the move. All Accommodation and Camp establishments have electricity points. It is advisable to bring spare batteries with you on tour.

Will there be WIFI whilst on tour?

In most camp sits and some bush lodges WIFI is nonexistent, but in bigger towns you will easily be able to get online. You can also easily purchase a sim card for your cellphone with local mobile Operator MTC, and purchase one of their Data packages, however the data connection in some parts of Namibia may not be very stable.

How is the food on tour?

On Mabaruli tours we can say with confident that you will enjoy all meals served on safari. All meals are nutritious, cooked and prepared on open fire by the tour Guide or camp assistants, who pride themselves in catering variety tastes, Please do let us know in advance of any dietary requirements and any food allergies. A rough idea of what to expect:

Breakfast – cereals, milk, bread/toast with jams, yoghurt, muesli and fruits with coffee and tea or the occasional cooked breakfast.

Lunch – Mostly picnic style lunches with cheeses, cold meats, tuna, fruit, pasta or green salads and breads or rolls.

Dinner – Potjies (stews), braais (barbeque), stir fries, curries etc., all prepared on gas or opened fire.

Do we cater for vegetarian dietary requirements?

No problem at all, please just advise us in advance what you eat and what you do NOT eat. This is also very important if you suffer from any food allergies etc. We also cater for Gluten Free dietary.

On a camping tour, do I need to bring my own mattress and sleeping bag?

On all our camping tours, we provide a nice thick 5cm mattress for your comfort. You can either bring your own sleeping bag or hire from us. Please book prior your safari. We also have stretches to hire if you need a more bed-like sleep.

Do Mabaruli have any cancellation fees and booking deposit requirements?

Cancellation fees is subject to our Cancellation Policy as set out in our Terms and Conditions.

On confirmation of reservations a 20% deposit of the full amount is due to confirm any reservation and is done by the travelling client or Agent. This deposit will be refundable in accordance with Mabaruli’s Cancellation Policy.

In addition to your deposit, the following cancellation charges are applicable:

 

Cancellation fee:

42 days or more 20% (deposit forfeited)

29 – 41 days 50%

15 – 28 days 75%

0 – 14 days 100%

Please note: the notice period is calculated from the date of cancellation to the start date of the tour/safari booking.

The above is applicable due to that most Accommodation and campsites needs a deposit payment to secure the booking and if there is any cancellations, Mabaruli African Safaris will be liable due to that the bookings will be made at establishments on our Company name and are our responsibility to keep bookings secured for our clients. Be assure that your deposit funds are used to pay for these bookings.
