NAMIBIAN & SADC POST-LOCKDOWN SPECIALS
When it comes to accommodation, most Southern Africa countries has provision for a two-tier pricing system. One for international guests and one for the Southern African Development Community (SADC).
SADC Countries include – Botswana, Lesotho, Madagascar, Mauritius, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia & Zimbabwe
The prices for SADS countries are more in-line with their income and their weaker currencies and is therefore cheaper than the price for international guests.
Accommodation establishments are not obligated to offer these lower rates and only a few of them do, in order to attract this larger market to their establishments.
But, when Covid-19 hit Southern Africa, including Namibia, and business declined in the Tourism Industry in Namibia. Tour Operators & Accommodation establishments started to encourage locals to support the tourism sector with reduce rates to the locals.
With numerous lodges in Namibia and including Government owned NWR (Namibia Wildlife Resorts) started running special rates to locals and local Tour Operators, this gave a lot of Tour Operators the change to put together local packages for Namibians.
As numerous lodges have extended their local rates to June 2021, Mabaruli can continue with great packages for Local Namibians and SADC residents.
